HISTORY

In the year of 1897, William H. Lisbony donated property for the purpose of building a church. The following year, four longshoremen took out a loan in the amount of one hundred and ninety dollars. A small white church with a white picket fences was erected in the of "The First Missionary Baptist Church of Dickinson".

Rev. H.S. Anderson became the first pastor. Some time in the early 1900's, the members agreed to rename the church to "Mount Carmel Missionary Church".

VISION

God has envisioned the church to see a community of Christian Baptized believers coming together in one voice lifting up and praising the one true God. We believe the goal He has given us is to direct, and encourage this church to walk in the likeness of Jesus Christ:

  • To strengthen our community through His powerful World;

  • To guide families as they grow closer to God through His Son Jesus Christ;

  • To offer the salvation of the Lord to all who are willing to have eyes to see, an ear to hear and a heart to receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior;

  • Finally, to teach God's uncompromising Word and to live God's Word as He enriches us all with His awesome blessings of "Grace and Mercy" as only He can and shall supply.
